I’m going to blame it on global warming. I swear I was going to write about all those Autumnal, apple-y, root-y, sage-y sorts of things that are forever fused to the holiday subconscious. But the 90 degree heat has dashed that ambition. I swear, we’re just throwing together some crudite for the holiday. Asparagus? Why not? The pencil thin stuff is sharing the table with multicolored carrots, radishes, and a sort of autumnal pomelo (it’s the huge, grapefruity thing on the right). I’ll post my brussels sprouts recipe (mine differs a bit from Matthew’s excellent version) when the temperature drops below 75.
