Kid Friendly Restaurants of the World – The Map

Hi Gastrokidders – not all the reader suggestions are on the map yet so bear with me.
Keep em coming.

It might be the shiraz and the guanciale and red onion pizza talking, but that’s the start of a beautiful thing.
Austin, TX – Now that I’m in L.A., I miss all the kid-friendly places back in Austin. A few favorites…
Dandelion Cafe on E. 11th. So much yummy, healthy stuff that you can tempt your kids with. Plus, there’s kids’ furniture, books and chalkboards to distract them if you’re grabbing a coffee. I wish they had something just like this here in L.A.
It’s funny that someone mentioned Vespiao. I’ve only eaten there once, but I would never think of taking any but the most docile and/or sedated children there. I always thought it was more for business meetings and romantic tete-a-tetes. My visit was for the former and the overall atmosphere was rather hushed.
Meanwhile, YAY for Mr. Natural on Cesar Chavez. I wish I could feed my toddler this vegetarian Mexican comfort food every single day.
Central Market is a gourmet grocery store with a huge dine-in cafe, al fresco dining and an adjacent playground, plus a duck/turtle/fish-filled pond just off the store grounds.
Brilliant. Can’t you envision a permanent site of all the best kid’s restaurants around the world? Can’t you? Won’t you?
I love this idea…especially for travellers! Taking a child on a trip can be a challenge in and of itself, but finding a decent restaurant is a completely different ballgame!
I just referenced a restaurant on my site (http://www.culinarycowgirl.blogspot.com/) called Strelecky Ostrov. It’s located in Prague. Child-friendly for both comfort and food.
I agree with Brandon – can’t you envision a permanent site? What a tremendous resource that would be! Keep up the good work!
Hello there,
here is a great place to go with children if you are around 3rd Street in Los Angeles, and want some fast affordable and great food.
It’s called Mishima, and it’s a japanese noodle restaurant. They have children’s tableware and a bento box for children. Plus a toy/book after dessert (you have to ask for it though) We all love to go there and warmly recommend it!
Mishima
