It’s seldom that we use convenience foods at Gastrokid Headquarters Los Angeles, but we’re suckers for Pamela’s gluten-free baking and pancake mix. It’s 24 ounces of instant waffles or pancakes ready for your Gastrokid interpretations. My wife likes to add fruit like blueberries and bananas. I like to add fat like butter. One way or the other we top it with syrup (grade B. dark and intense). And our kids eat them joyfully. 4 year old Desmond likes to prop the pictures with whatever toy he has handy. In this case it was a rubber shark I bought for him on a business trip to Australia. Little does he know great whites are trolling domestic waters, from Montauk to Malibu. Nor does he need to. As for convenience cooking, this mix is pretty masterful.
