Strawberry season is still a few months away in this northern clime but we scored some really tasty imported fruit this weekend and asked Dylan and Zelda what they’d do to make them into a special treat?
Neither ice cream nor double cream got a look in. No, melted chocolate won the day and not any melted choc – a whole bar of Montezuma’s was sacrificed for a higher cause.
Zelda and I devoured our strawberries while the chocolate was still warm but Dylan was adamant he’d wait until the chocolate had hardened so he could crunch through it and into the soft strawberry. That principle was soon whittled down to leaving the last strawberry to harden while he devoured the rest.
Life, as we know, is full of compromises.
